Many individuals have no desire to purchase a large bed that takes up too much space in their bedrooms. For these people, a futon mattress presents a great solution. Futons are space efficient, cost efficient and aesthetically pleasing. The Japanese have been enjoying the style and comfort of futon mattresses in their culture for centuries and we in the Western world have adapted these unique mattresses to fit in with our own style and culture.

Bed Mattress Futon

A futon provides a bed mattress that can be folded up during the day into a couch. This allows for great flexibility in the use of your space, as your bedroom can transform into a sitting room or an office during the day. In addition, many people place a bed mattress futon in their guest bedroom, so that the room can double as a recreation or leisure room when the family is not entertaining visitors. Futons are stylish and are usually constructed out of wood or metal frames coupled with comfortable yet flexible mattresses. Whether folded up into a couch or put into the prone position as a mattress, a futon lends comfort and beauty to the room.

Because a futon doubles as another piece of furniture, it is especially useful for people who have limited living space arrangements.  One prime example of this is college students who are living in a dorm.  Futons are popular in dorms because they can be functional in both the day and the night, while conserving the space that would normally be taken up by the couch.  Anyone who has a relatively small house or a small apartment might also benefit from having a futon for these same reasons.  Also, anyone who spends time their bedroom watching television or playing video games might want the added functionality that comes from having a futon as well.  Really, anyone who wants to save space can really save quite a bit if they ditch their bed and their couch and just buy a futon instead.

Futon Mattress Cover

It is common practice to purchase a futon mattress cover, both to decorate and to protect your futon against normal wear and tear. Futon mattress covers are typically very affordable and can be purchased at a wide range of shops. They come in all different shapes, sizes, colors and styles in order to compliment the overall design scheme in any given room. A futon mattress cover typically zips around your futon mattress, although some of the more unique cover styles incorporate buttons instead of zippers. You can change your futon mattress covers according to the season, or whenever the fancy strikes you! The point is to keep your futon mattress in prime condition, so that it can serve its purpose for many years to come.  Basic protection makes sense if you have invested in a piece of furniture that you want to enjoy and use for many years to come.  If anything gets spilled on the mattress cover, you can always wash it easily or eventually just buy another mattress cover down the road.

Cheap Futon Mattress

Futons have become so popular that it is now a simple task to find a cheap futon mattress in virtually any city or town in the United States. By entering a few key words into your favorite online search engine, you will be rewarded with links to hundreds of cheap futon mattress vendors in your local area. You may be wise to shop at large warehouse-type resale establishments if they are available in your region, because these stores typically offer the best prices and widest varieties of futons available. Regardless of where you purchase your cheap futon mattress, some simple assembly may be required.  If you just walk into a furniture store and ask to see their futons, the prices might not be so great.  But if you do some hunting around and consider shopping online as well, you can probably find some really cheap prices compared to mainstream furniture stores.

Futon mattresses are very popular in our culture today. They are stylish, affordable and able to fit in with any design scheme imaginable.
